When the biasing voltages are applied in a transistor and a fixed value of currents (base current IB, collector current IC and emitter current IE) flow through the transistor, the transistor operates in a point with these current and voltages. This point is called the operating point or quiescent point or Q-point

Bias Compensation Techniques
The compensation techniques are used to stabilise the Q-point. Usually PN-junction diodes, thermistors (RT ) and transistors are temperature sensitive devices and can be used to compensate the change in collector current (IC) and the operating point (Q point) will be stabilised. This method is called bias compensation.
