When a product is got by changing the natural product , through the process of manufacturing, it is an activity of the Secondary sector. It is the next step, after the Primary sector.
Here are a few examples of the activities of the Secondary Sector:-
(a) Textile Industry
Cotton a primary product (natural product), is spun into yarn and woven into cloth. The process of spinning and weaving is an activity of the Secondary Sector.
(b) Construction Industry
Bricks made from earth ( a natural recourse) and steel made from ores ( a natural recourse) is used to construct buildings. The process of construction is an activity of the Secondary Sector.
(c) Automobile Industry
Cars are made from steel, rubber and other material got from natural sources and hence the process of making a car is an activity of the Secondary Sector.
The Secondary Sector is also called the Industrial Sector.
