Electrical Energy

Electric changes at rest attract or repel each other. Moving charges (i.e. currents) also attract or repel each other. Therefore, work has to be done to keep two changes a certain distance apart or to move them with respect to each other. Similarly work has to be done to keep two current carrying conductors a certain distance apart or to move them with respect to each other. The energy associated with this work is called electrical, or, more appropriately, electromagnetic energy.
