Construction of Angle Bisector

The bisector of an angle is a line passing through the vertex, dividing the angle into two equal parts.

 


Let COD be the angle to be bisected.
With O as centre and any convenient radius draw an arc to cut the arms of the given angle at A and B.
With A as centre and the same radius, draw an arc .
With B as centre and with the same radius, draw an arc to cut the previous arc at E. Join OE.
OE bisects the angle COD, i.e

COE = DOE.
