Graphical Representation of Statistical Data
One of the main objectives of the study of statistical methods is to present a voluminous numerical data into another form which is simple meaningful and understandable. We know that grouped frequency distribution gives a more clear picture of the ungrouped data. Another device which is more simple and more intelligible than tabulation is the presentation of data by visual aids like geometrical figures, pictures, maps, lines and curves. Graphs and diagrams leave a lasting impression on the mind.
By presenting data graphically, we get immediate analysis of the data. It helps in comparative study of data. We shall study the following three ways of representation of datas.
(a) Bar graphs.
(c) Frequency polygons.
