Consider the statement: (if then) if it is cloudy, it will rain.

The converse of this statement is: If it rains, then it is cloudy.

The converse of p â‡’ q is q â‡’ p

Example 1:
If x is less than zero, then x is not positive.

Solution:
If x is not positive, then x is less than O.

Example 2:
If stock price falls, then unemployment rises.

Solution:
If unemployment rises, the stock price falls.

Example 3:
If 6 is a factor of a number, 3 is a factor of the number.

Solution:
If 3 is a factor of a number, then 6 is a factor of the number.
