The number of real roots of the equation ,
where A and B are real numbers and simultaneously not equal to zero, is
|D||1 or 2|
⇒ A2(x−1) B2x = x2− x
This is a quadratic equation. Hence, the number of roots = 2 or 1 (1 in the case when both roots are equal).
