IntroductionLiposuction is a surgical technique designed to remove the fat deposits from areas genetically difficult to control by diet (abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks). It is not a weight reducing method, but a method of body contouring.
It is the removal of unwanted lumps, bulges & areas of fat using thin suction tubes (cannulae) that are placed into the body through small incisions. A vacuum is placed through a hose attached to the cannula, this draws fat out of the body
In women and men, fat deposits may be performed beneath the chin and on the flanks, hips and inner and outer thighs, knees and lower legs. These are some of the areas where body contouring with liposuction produces impressive results. The most frequently treated areas in women are the abdomen, hips, thighs and knees. In men, love handles, abdomen and enlarged male breasts (gynaecomastia). Other areas in men to be treated are arm, neck & face. Interestingly, sweat glands in under arms can be improved by liposuction to reduce excessive sweating without affecting the bodies overall ability to cool itself.
With tumescent liposhaping large volume of solution containing dilute lignocaine (a local anaesthetic) & adrenaline (a drug to shrink capillaries & prevent blood loss) are injected with minimal discomfort directly into areas of excessive fatty deposits. 0nce the liquid is injected, tiny incisions are made in the skin,& a tube (called cannula) connected to a vacuum is inserted into fatty layer. The new liposhaping uses straw-like cannulas using to & fro movements, the fat is drawn through the cannula into a collection system.
The tumescent method enables the surgeons to remove large amounts of fat uniformly with fewer skin irregularities & less bleeding & bruising. An elastic compression garment is worn for 24hr during first week and 12hr in second week.
The longer you wear your garment the better compression & contouring you will achieve.
