Following clinical manifestation clinch the diagnosis is extra hepatic biliary atresia,

1. Neonatal hepatitis appears to be more common in premature or small for gestational age

2. Palpation of the lmay find an abnormal size or consistency in patients with neonatal hepatitis

Direct cholangiography should be performed to determine the presence and site of obstruction for exploratory laparotomy
