Cutaneous leishmaniasis used to occur in the-Northwestern states of India extending from Amritsar to Kutch and Gujarat plains. One focus of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis (ZCL) has been discovered in Rajasthan. Most skin lesions evolve from papular to nodular to ulcerative, with a central crust.
