a. This is the history of vaginal candiasis. The predisposing factor for this condition is diabetes mellitus.
b. Diagnosis of candidal vaginitis is caused by KOH mount or gram staining of the vaginal swab, which shows budding yeast cells with pseudohyphae.
c. Other predisposing factors include neutropenia, HIV, pregnancy, steroids, prolonged antibiotics.
