A 52 year male is diagnosed as triple vessel disease with poor LV function. Coronary artery bypass was decided. During maintenance of anesthesia which one of the following should be preferred?
a. Halothane, enflurane. sevoflurane decrease cardiac output therefore not suitable for cardia~ patients. Isoflurane maintains cardiac output but can cause coronary steal in myocardial ischemia patients.
b. Desflurane (and nitrous oxide mildly in vivo) can stimulate sympathetic system and can cause tachycardia. so not suitable for MI patients. Therefore anaesthesia is best maintained on IV opioids.
