A patient presents with diarrhoea. Analysis of stool on wet mount shows mobile protozoa without rbcs and pus cells. The Diagnosis is:
a. Giardiasis is associated with diarrhea. This infection is not associated with dysentery.
b. Balantidium coli is a ciliate protozoan that causes ciliate dysentery with RBC’s and pus cells in stools.
c. Entamoeba histolytica causes amebic dysentery with RBC’s and pus cells in stools.
d. Trichomonas hominis is a non-pathogenic flagellate protozoan present as a normal commensal in the GIT.
