Pugilistic Attitude = Boxing = fencing = Defence attitude-
a. Seen both in antemortem & postmortem burns.
b. due to coagulation of proteins and dehydration.
c. The posture of a body (exposed to great heat), the legs are flexed at the hips and knees, the arms are flexed at elbows and wrists and held out in front of the body, all fingers are hooked like claws.
d. Contraction of paraspinal muscles often causes a marked opisthotonus.
