Severe unrelenting pain is the salient features of this condition
a. Pain is not a prominent feature of Madura mycosis. Rarely pain may be present following secondary infection. In early stages the disease may respond to massive doses of penicillin or dapsone.
b. In later stages once the foot becomes disorganized amputation may become necessary.
