a. Maduramycosis is a chronic fungal infection seen in northern Africa and Indian subcontinent. Treatment is unsatisfactory and there is no really effective chemotherapy.
b. Intravenous amphotericin B is advocated but it is fairly toxic. Amputation is sometimes necessary.
