Scabies - characterized by severe itching which is worse at night, diffusely, scattered, papular and papulo-vesicular lesions.

1). It is essential to treat all members of the affected household simultaneously whether or not they appear to be infested.

2). Before commencing the treatment the patients is given a good scrub with soap and hot water

3). Drug of choice is permethrin

4). Patients who continue to have itching and papular or nodular lesions on the scrotal skin even after adequate treatment for scabies, should be treated with local calamine lotions or local corticosteroids for two to four weeks till these lesions subsides.

5). Antibiotic have no role unless secondary infections occurs.
