Injuries of Upper Limb
All the following regarding hanging cast are correct except
|A||Usually used to treat fractures lower third of humerus|
|B||The weight of the limb in the cast is supposed to provide necessary traction to keep the fracture aligned|
|C||The cast is kept on for a period of 6-8 weeks|
|D||Does not cause elbow stiffness|

Treatment by hanging cast is an old technique for treatment of fractures humerus lower end with a reasonable rate of success. Elbow stiffness due to prolonged immobilization is a problem which is overcome by physiotherapy.
