Crystal Deposition Disorder

Viscosity of synovial fluid is primarily because of the high levels of hyaluronate. Non inflammatory synovial fluid is clear, viscous, amber coloured with a WBC <200 / μL & a predominence of mononuclear cell. Inflammatory fluid is turbid, yellow, with an increased WBC count 2000 to 50,000 / μL and a polymorphonuclear leukocytic predominance.
