Bluish discolouration of vaginal mucosa in pregnancy is known as: (AIIMS May 2012)
Jackquemier’s sign or Chadwick’s sign is bluish discolouration of mucous membrane of vagina (due to venous obstruction) after the 4th week. Hegar’s sign- +ve at 6th week, one hand placed at abdomen and with the 2 fingers of the other hand in vagina the firm cervix is felt, while between the the isthmus is felt as a soft compressible area. Goodel’s sign- cervix softens progressively from below upwards, from 2nd to 4th month.
