Both oral and nasal intubation is Cl in:
CI for the both oral and nasal intubation are laryngeal edema, laryngotracheobronchitis and epiglottitis. In these conditions intubation may be tried only in mild cases and that too with expert hand otherwise attempt to intubate can aggravate edema and can produce respiratory obstruction. Nasal bleeding and CSF rhinorrhea are CI of nasal intubation but oral can be performed. In comatose both oral and nasal intubation can be done.
