Cardiac output is maximally decreased by:
a. Isoflurane does not sensitize the heart to adrenergic arrhythmias (cf. halothane) and causes minimal alteration of cardiovascular status.
b. Coronary circulation is maintained with isoflurane and is thus safer in patients with myocardial ischemia.
c. Isoflurane does not provoke seizures and is preferred for neurosurgery.
