Cervical Rib: is an additional rib which arises from the 7th cervical vertebra.
a. It is usually attached to the first rib close to the insertion of the scalenus anterior muscle.
b. Cervical rib can cause thoracic outlet syndrome characterised by paraesthesia in the distribution of C8 and Tl may be elicited by pulling the arm downwards and backwards.
