1. Chancroid

H. ducreyi (Gram -ve coccobacillus) others - herpes virus hominis

Treatment of choice is

Erythromycin [1 02-RX]

2. Lymphogranuloma, venereum (LGV)

Chlamydia – trachomatis (L I. II. III) – obligatory Intracellular gram negative rods

The antibiotic of choice is tetracycline (C/I in pregnancy)

3. Granuloma inguinale (Donovanosis)

Calymmatobacterium

granulomatis (Gram negative rod) 'safety' pin appearance

Erythromycin or tetracycline are drug of choice

4. Syphilis

T. pallidum

Benzathine penicillin (2.4 mega units)

5. Gonorrhoea

N. gonorrheal (gram negative diplococcus)

(A) Uncomplicated- Ceftriaxone or cefixime single dose is the treatment of choice

(B) Treatment of other infections Penicillin G (l0, million) Or Ceftriaxone 1 gm
