The classic pattern of Klinefelter syndrome is associated with a 47, XXY karyotype. This complement results from nondisjunction during the meiotic divisions in one of the parents. Maternal nondisjunction at the first meiotic division accounts for a little more than half of the cases. Most of the remaining result from nondisjunction during the first paternal meiotic division
