Discoid lupus erythematosus
In chronic discoid lupus erythematosus (CDLE), irregular red plaques appear most commonly on head and neck region. Atrophy and hypopigmentation appear on the centre of the lesion. On the scalp, scarring alopecia occurs in the affected areas. The condition may be aggravated or initiated by the exposure to the sun.
