a. Pseudocyesis (Phantom, spurious, false pregnancy)
i. Pseudocyesis - is a psychological disorder in which the patient has a false but fixed idea that she is pregnant
ii. It is frequently, but not always, seen near the menopause
iii. It is more often seen in patients without children
b. There may be amenorrhoea, morning sickness and breast tenderness, and that she can feel fetal movements.
i. The abdomen may appear distended due to voluntary aerophagy
ii. In some cases the condition continues until eventually spurious labour.
iii. The shape of the swelling is different from that of the pregnant uterus.
