Eryhtema Infectiosum( Fifth Disease)

  1. Most common clinical manifestation of parvovirus B19Q.
  2. Incubation period :4-14 days.
  3. Prodrome minimal or absent.
  4. Rash appears first on cheeks (slapped cheek appearance Q) followed by trunk and extremities (palm and soles spared).
  5. Adults, especially women, frequently develop acute arthropathy with or without the rash of erythema infectiosum
  6. Transient aplastic crisis, myocarditis
  7. Chronic anemia in patients with impaired humoral immunity
  8. Rash disappears without desquamation in 2 weeks.
