1. Elastic cartilage (also called yellow cartilage) is present in the outer Ear (pinna), Eustachian tube, and Epiglottis (E3) which contains fibers made of elastin.
2. It is also present at the tips of arytenoid cartilage, and corniculate, cuneiform cartilages in larynx.
3. Elastic cartilage is present to keep the tubes permanently open. Elastic cartilage is similar to hyaline cartilage but contains elastic bundles (elastin) scattered throughout the matrix
