a. Ewing’s postulates - In accepting trauma as a cause of cancer, the following criteria sud be satisfied.
b. The tumour site prior to the injury was normal. The injury was sufficiently severe to disrupt continuity of tissues at the injury site and so initiate a reparative proliferation of cells. The tumour followed injury within a reasonable length of time. The tumour is of a type that might reasonably develop as a result of regeneration & repair of specific tissues that that receive the injury.
c. The exact nature of the tumour can be established byclinical, x-ray & microscopic examination.
