- FK-506 is Tacrolimus. It is a macrolide antibiotic. It produced by Streptomyces tsukubaensis
- Mechanism of action: It inhibits T cell activation by inhibiting calcineurin.
- It is 75 - 99% protein bound to albumin by CX1 acid glycoprotein. Uses: Prophylaxis of solid organ allograft rejection.
- Side effects: Nephrotoxicity, Neurotoxicity, Git symptoms, HT, hyperkalemia, hyperglycemia.
