Gradenigo's Syndrome is the Clinical Manifestation of Petrositis
a. Diplopia (due to VI nerve palsy)
b. Deep seated ear / retro orbital pain (due to Vth nerve irritation)
c. Persistent ear Discharge
.. Answer 57 is obvious i.e. Gradenigo's syndrome.
d. As far as Ans 58 is concerned, though conductive deafness may also be seen in petrositis (as petrositis is a complication oKSOM); but since we have to exclude one option, it is the answer of consensus here.
Management: - Antibacterial therapy
- Surgery - Cortical/Modified Radical/Radical mastoidectomy.
