Question

Group B fibreare

A Sympathetic preganglionic

B Parasympathetic preganglionic

C Option A,B is right

D Parasympathetic post ganglionic

Ans. C Sympathetic preganglionic, Parasympathetic preganglionic

Nerve fiber Types & Function:

1. Erlanger and Gasser divided mammalian nerve fibers into A,B and C groups.

A groups is further divided into α, β, γand δfibers. A and B fibers are myelinated while C-fibers are unmyelinated

2. A fibersthickest nerve fibers, (Dia. 12-20 μm), and have highest conduction velocity (70-120 m/s)

Function Propioception, somatic motor.

Distribution Muscle spindle, Annulospinal ending, (Ia) and Golgitendon organ (Ib)

3. B-Groups Preganglionic autonomic (either sympathetic or parasympathetic)

Note same thing is written in Neuro-anatomy book.

4. C-groups ego

a. Dorsal root Pain and temperature and

b. Postganglionic sympathetics

5. Susceptibility of the Nerve fibers:
