Hydatidiform mole is associated with: (LQ)
1. Hydatidiform mole is a neoplastic disease of trophoblastic-tissue.
2. Edematous chorionic villi fill the endometrial cavity, and there is no identifiable gestational sac or fetal tissue.
3. Ovaries contain enlarged granulosa lutein cysts in 60% of cases and the cyst may grow to a maximum size of a fetal head. A minority of cases may progress to invasive mole or choriocarcinoma. The clinical presentation includes bleeding, an enlarged uterus, and hyperemesis. Ultrasonography reveals the uterine cavity distended with tissue that is echogenic and contains innumerable small cysts.
