The hyperplastic or proliferative type of arteriosclerosis is a characteristic lesion of malignant hypertension

a. Other causes of hyperplastic arteriosclerosis:

i. Hypoxia. ii. Immunologic damage leading to increased permeability.

iii. Hypertension. iv. Haemolytic-uraemic syndrome.

v. Scleroderma. vi. Toxaemia of pregnancy.

b. Felty syndrome: Comprise polyarticular rheumatoid arthritis associated with splenomegaly and hypersplenism and consequent haematologic dermagement.
