In Sheehan's syndrome, the most effective drug is: (AIIMS Nov 2012)
a. If systemic hypotension develops, as with postpartum hemorrhage, the pituitary may undergo infarction (Sheehan's syndrome or post-partum pituitary necrosis).
b. The management of the patients who have already developed Sheehan's syndrome should be done by endocrinology department and consists of "maintenance regime" of thyroxin, adrenal cortical hormone and possibly gonadotropin.
