In asymmetrical IUGR which organ is not affected- (LQ)
IUGR is classified as
a. Symmetric IUGR
i. Redrrced growth is symmetric _r head circumference, length and weight equally affected.
ii. Has earlier onset.
iii. Is associated with diseases that se ously affect fetal cell number, such as conditions with chromosomal, genetic malformation, temtogenic, infectious or severe maternal hypertensive etiologies.
b. Asymmetric lUGR
i. Reduced growth is asymmetric with relative sparing of head growth'
ii. Has late onset.
iii. lsassociatedwithpoormaternalnutritionorwithlateonset/exacerbationofmatemalvasculardisease (rreeclampsia, chronic hypertension)'
