Strangulation by a ligature-

Ligature markQ- It is transverse, completely encircling the neck, below the thyroid cartilage.

The base is soft and reddish, with ecchymoses & haemorrhages.

Fracture of thyroid cartilage: more common.

Emphysematous bullae: Very common on the surface of the lungs.

Face: Congested, livid and marked with patechiae.

Tongue: Swelling and protrusion is more marked.

Involuntary Discharge: of faces and urine more common.
