Incidence can be directly calculated from which of these study designs? (AIIMS May 11)
A prospective study design is the classical cohort study design which provides the incidence rate of the disease or the outcome under study & hence also helps in directly computing the relative risk of the disease.
The biggest advantage of carrying out a cohort study is that it helps in calculating the incidence rate which provides a direct measure of risk in terms relative risk. Incidence rate is also known as absolute risk.
