Internal version is always a podalic version and is almost always completed with extraction of the fetus. Nowadays, it is hardly indicated in a singleton pregnancy. Its only indication is the transverse lie in a case of second baby of twins. Before doing this procedure conditions to be ascertained are:

a. Cervix is fully dilated;

b. Adequate liquor amnii for intrauterine fetal manipulation is present; and

c. Fetus is alive.
