Lisch nodules are seen in: (LQ)
1). Neurofibromas are soft papules or nodules and they invaginate into the skin with pressure in a manner similar to a hernia (the button hole sign).
2). Multiple neurofibromas, usually in combination with 6 or more cafe au lait spots measuring >1.5 cm and multiple Lisch nodules, are seen in von Recklinghausen's disease (NF type I).
3). Lisch nodules are 1-mm yellow-brown spots within the iris and are best seen on slit-lamp examination.
4). Other manifestations include axillary freckling and peripheral and CNS tumors.
