Mechanism of action of d-tubocurare is:
|C||Blockage of sodium channels|
|D||Blockage of potassium influx|
a. Muscle relaxants are classified as depolarizing and non depolarizing agents.
b. Depolarizers (succinylcholine! suxamethonium) bind to the same site of acetylcholine receptor at which acetylcholine binds producing persistent depolarization and hence muscle fasciculations followed by relaxation due to refractory membrane. Non depolarizers also block the same site of acetylcholine and thus produce the competitive antagonism.
