Minimum duration between onset of symptoms and death is seen in: (AIPG 2009)
a. The most common cause of maternal mortality in India is Hemorrhage in pregnancy. Uterine atony causing PPH is the most important and preventable cause of PPH. Unchecked or if help for treatment of PPH arrives late, it is still the most common cause of hemorrhage in pregnancy.
b. Antepartum hemorrhage can cause maternal morbidity and mortality but that is not always so sudden. In comparison to PPH, In APH there is invariably a ‘Window’ where if action is taken
c. appropriately, there can be maternal salvage. In PPH, in spite of best managements sometime, one can lose the patient very rapidly.
