Erythema Nodosum

1). Erythema nodosum (EN) (red nodules) is an inflammation of the fat cells under the skin (panniculitis) characterized by tender red nodules or lumps that are usually seen on both shins.

2). EN is an immunologic response to a variety of different causes.

3). Panniculitis char/by crops of tender subcutaneous nodules due to hypersensitivity.

4). Most common seen in Anterior surface of legs/Shins

5). Seen with streptococcal infection, TB, Sarcoidosis, Drugs-OCP use, sulfonamides, Penicillin.
