In secondary syphilis scattered red-brown papules with thin scale are found. The palms and soles are involved often. Other findings include annular plaques on the face, no scarring alopecia, condyloma lata which are broad-based and moist, mucous patches and lymphadenopathy, malaise, fever, headache, and myalgias. The interval between the primary chancre and the secondary stage is 4 to 8 weeks.
