Hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia may occur due to excessive or deficient glucose. Respiratory acidosis may be seen due to increased CO2 production by excessive glucose.

Hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis may be seen due! 21 to excessive chloride content of amino acids. Other amino-acid related complications are hyper- or hypoproteinemia. Fat related complications are hyper- or hypolipidemia.
