a. Afferent impulses from the cervix and uterus are transmitted to the spinal cord via segments T10-L1.
b. Second-stage pain is principally somatic in nature and is transmitted through the spinal S2-4 segments.
c. For painless labour, Epidural analgesia and pudendal block is given. Pudendal nerve, which is a somatic nerve, supplies S-2-3-4 segment.
