a. Bone and joint lesions in syphilis occur in the tertiary stage periostitis is the most common lesion occuring in both skull and long bones.
b. The periosteum becomes edematous and infiltrated with round cells and granulation tissue, The granulation tissue is converted to bone by a lace like deposition of new bone
