2). It is marked by development of urticaria and edematous areas of skin, mucous membranes, or viscera and is a benign condition when limited to the skin.
3). The reaction is dependent on IgE and may be associated with specific antigen sensitivity to foods, drugs, stings, or molds, atopic diathesis, or it may be a physical reaction of the skin to cold, light, pressure, or exercise or may also be complement mediated.
