Regarding National Polio Surveillance all are true except: (DNB June 09)
|A|| Mopping up is done in areas with active cases found|
|B|| OPV is given to all children less than five years of age.|
|C|| Confirmation of diagnosis is by stool sample|
|D|| Acute Flaccid Paralysis(AFP) Surveillance is not done in children < 5years of age|
Mopping up rounds is done if active case is found. In this extra sessions of immunization with OPV is done.
Confirmation of the diagnosis is by collection of stool sample (two stool sample 24 hours apart) within 14 days of onset of paralysis. AFP surveillance is done in all children less than 5 years of age.
